I hope you are right.
If they go too a single cylinder just for efi, big mistake.

About the weight issue the 650 weighed 604 lbs and the 700 shed a few pounds i think it weighs 600 even. Weird if you ask me.

It appears I stepped into a cowpie with my comments about the kawie belt/converter set-up. I am now on my 3rd belt. The first one came much too loose from the factory and was replaced by Kawie. By then, thru this site and a lot of good comments by NYROC, I knew enough to tighten the belt by removing shims. Yes, I am fairly handy with tools, and I am the one that suggested that all you folks use a PVC pipe cap instead of the steel pipe cap to fabricate the tool you need to add/remove shims to adjust belt tension. The second belt lasted somewhat longer (installed the EPI black spring). However, around 3000 miles the belt was too loose and did not meet specs for belt width. Installed 3rd belt, leaving only the .06 shim installed. Belt was then slightly too tight per the specs but OK by me.
At about 4800 miles, the belt was squealing badly on initial throttle, even in lo range. Have removed the .06 shim and belt tension is now at the tight edge of the tension spec. Belt width is still within spec. Hopefully, it will last another 1500 miles or so. I do not like to have to constantly be concerned about belt wear and riding in a manner that is to extend belt life. Loyalty to Kawasaki or any other brand, H#@@ no! I want my equipment and toys to be reliable without constant maintenance and adjustments. Obviously, at this point, I like my Kawie well enough to be riding it in spite of this obvious weak point. The p-650 & 700 have a lot going for them.In spite of what I just said, I will probably buy another Kawie if it is the only one with the V-Twin and efi. Rincon? maybe, A friend of mine has one and has put close to 2000 miles on it with nary a problem. I don't like it's free wheeling on steep downgrades and it does not have the pizzaz that the Prairie has but there is no squealing belt that needs constant attention. But, I think it is time for me to have a new machine and I will have one before the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree in September.

Just wanted to add on the weight issue...... I had my prairie 650 weight taken at a certified truck scale, with a full tank of gas, custom box on front... full of Sh*&, and a camo cargo bag on the rear........ my weight was 640 lbs. That's not to bad compared to some other machines out there.

from what i gather the Prairie will return to a 650 and the 750 will be called a Brute force and have IRS. The Prairie will remain SRA and more than likely be tuned to run as good of better than the 750 (we know a p650 can be tuned to spank a stock p700). The 750 will be neutered a bit so as not to tear up rear suspension parts. The EFI is not a certainty according to some people.

i'm hopeing that PW was right (he has been thus far) in saying the the new Kaws will be EFI'ed and the system will be adaptable to the 02-04 prairies!!! I'd love to feulinject my prairie!!!

<<<<adding my 2 cents. My only issue with the P700 is I live in Maryland the closest LEGAL place to ride is 2 1/2 hours away. What does this have to do with the topic? Nothing lmao
