tires and tire size for 02 Prairie
I need a tire with a lot more bite than stock tires. I have read that mudlites are a good all round tire and mudbugs are also good. The main question is how big? Some people say 26" is great, others say 27" is better for clearance. I was thinking of 27-10 in the front and 27-12 in the back? Is this a good choice in tires and sizes? P.S. I ride in every type of terrain.

YDO... you can easily fit those tires in that size on your Prairie... however you should determine the tire & size, by the type of riding you do... If you like to "rip" around, & ride sporty, then, IMO, stick with 26" or so tires... generally the larger the tire, the heavier they are, the tire weight willn effect ride quality, acceration, top speeds, etc... I ran a set of 26" Mudrunners for a little over a year, & still had the sportiest of the utility quads, of the guy's I ride with... if you enjoy a more casual pace, you should be fine with a 27" tires... you'll find that the Mudlites, offer good traction, but don't last very long, because of the softer rubber compound, & the skeletonized lug pattern, if you enjoy ripping around, or spend much time on the roads / gravel, etc. of the 2 tires you mentioned, The Bugs will likely outlast the Lites, even though the Lites you are looking at, have the deeper tread pattern ( being 27", over the 25" )
unless you do alot of mud only riding, you may also want to look at one of the radial tires, they will provide more than enough traction, in everything but deep or sticky mud...

I have a set of 26" Bearclaws on mine. They are a really good all around tire. I love them. I would like a set of 27" tires now though because I find what I do with it, I need a little more clearance. But otherwise I have no regrets at all. Check my pics to see how they look.
