Default Shocks for V-Force ?

I am looking for info on replacement shocks for my V-force. I have read a lot about Elka's but not much info on Ohlins or Works and I'm sure there are probably several others who build shocks. I know very little about them but have read many who say shocks are the single best improvement you can make. Only thing I,m not sure about with the Elkas is how much they lower the ride height. I like the ground clearance and want the best ride possible for the least money possible. (I know doesn't everybody) I ride trails high desert and rocky rutted high mountain trails, I also ride sand and some wide open places too. So experiences suggestions fire away.

One other question I have heard of guys only replacing the front shocks. Is the rear a better shock than the fronts or do you just get more bang for the buck out of the fronts than the rears. Anyone just replaced the fronts on a V.

Default Shocks for V-Force ?

I am going to order elka's tomorrow, I have researched a ton on shock's and found that elka's were the best option for me. I'm getting the triple rates fronts with only compression adjustment. ohlin's shocks are a ton of money compared to the elka's and i've heard nothing but good things from elka. I'll let u kno how they are when they arrive, but i think elka's are the best replacement shocks for the v. Also about replacing the fronts those are the first you go about replacing, and your right you do get more bang for your buck with the fronts, they help with handling by lowering the bike and giving it a lower center of gravity. They also of help absord the shock of the jump. Hope this info helps

I have rode V's with elkas and mine with ohlins....If you are going to trail ride and not race much go with elkas they are a little plusher feeling than Ohlins...But if you are straight out always on the gas Ohlins seem to hold up better....just my 2 cents...The ride hight is lowered with both set ups but if you go to a 23 iinch tire in the front and keep the 22's in back it shouldnt be that noticable..I am running 20 's in the back..I think it handles much better with 20's...Although I do notice my skids take more of a beating...

What ever you decide to go with is 100% better than stock...

Check my page for pics....
