Default Pipe Selection/jetting for V-Force?

My brother-in-law is interested in a set of pipes for his V-Force and don't know much about mechanics so I volunteered to find him one and jet his quad. What pipes offer best overall fit and finish and good power as well? What jetting are you guys running in the 800 ft elavation area?

You won't get a simple anwser for this.....I run MBRP's (dual-full) and am jetted 150/152...They are not hard to put on and jetting isn't all that hard either...You don't have to remove the carbs on the V to jet..

Other's run DMC's...another very good looking SINGLE pipe is the Muzzy...Probably what most would recommend...

Depends on what you are looking for...Mine look great (all chrome)
DMC Aliens are very loud
Muzzy is a single..produces good HP and comes in various colors....

KevinM has a few sound files on his site (www.700v.com)

Jetting....it's a matter of trial and error...Best of getting a variety of jets and see what works for you (I'd recommend 140-170) Jets are cheap (only like $3 a piece)

Hope this helps...

Who's running HMF's? You guys just changing main jets? Any pilot jet or needle adjustments?

I run Muzzy's- D.G. snorkle- K & N with outerwear- vents cut in hood. My sea level to 1000' jetting is now 158 f 160 r with .020 shims on the needles, pilot screws 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 turns out...... humidity and ambient air temp are also factors to consider.

I run the HMF's, I've had them for over a year now with no problems, great fit & finish. I had Muzzys ordered a few months back but while they were on backorder I called and cancelled the order. I figured that I am very happy with the performance of my HMF system so why spend another four hundred bucks. I have gone through many different jetting set-ups to get it dialed in where it pulled good through the entire powerband. I now run the dynojet 134/138 with clips in the fourth position, pulls strong all the way through. I had run dyno needles with keihin mains a while back 150/152 and it ran good as well 200' where I'm at. I think you can't go wrong with the HMF,DMC, Pro circut, or Muzzys all good in my opinion. Don't forget the Yoshi's. Great pipes. Not a monster hp pipe but impressive gains in the torque(as well as the eyes and ears) department.
