the best way, to temp test it is to pull the fork, this insures that there is no contact with the bearing... however there have been several forum members that have just unplugged the 4 wire plug, that sits just behind the CVT exhaust boot, & have had mixed results... most are claiming a mph top end increase in speed... if that is correct, removing the KBEC, could probably add 2-3 horsepower to the entire powerband of your engine... ( if you unplug or mess with the KBEC, you'll likely get flashing 2 X 4 / 4 X 4 lights, that indicate a KBEC fault )... this is fixable though, also you will still have engine braking, however, it will operate like the V Force, & may take the blip of the throttle, at extreme slow speeds, to reengauge the belt...
