I'll jump in. The problems are all related to the broken speed sensor. Get it fixed and everything will work again.

Default NYROC Help (speed sensor)

KEBC, 4x4, Speedo, CDI

Run like crap, 4x4 messed up, engine brakes wacked, and speedo not working?

I wonder if we should keep spares of this thing with us, or make a guard to protect it.

Thanks nyroc, I've already ordered one for $48.55 maybe I should get 2. the only problem would be that you have to drain the oil out to replace it.

Flea,

I replaced the speed sensor on my 650 without changing the oil.

I simply rolled the bike on its left side and braced it up to keep the weight off the fenders. This way the oil runs away from the sensor allowing you to change it without the whole ordeal. As an added bonus, it also gives you a better angle working on the sensor (not so hard on the back)

Thanks I appreciate all the help. But its time to change tho oil anyway so I'll probably go ahead and drain it . but it is nice to know since I'm going to get a spare to take w/me that it can be changed w/o draining.
