Bayou clutch adjustment/noise prob.
#1
hi, my 99 Bayou 220 has a really loud clicking in the clutch at idle and when i get on the gas easially. Ive read in the owners book that theres a clutch release adjustment screw. it says....
""" take off clutch adjustment cover, loosen lock nut, turn the clutch release adjusting screw clockwise until it becomes hard to turn, then turn the screw back counterclockwise until it becomes hard to turn. then tighten the locknut. then reinstall the cover."""
how will i know if it will adjust right?
Do i do this when the motor is running, or will it hurt the trans.? or should i do it when not running?
Will this adjustment help to cure my noise at all?
This book doesnt give much detail, so i was hoping that i could get some help here.
thanks

because the noise comes from the clutch area, and because it only does that noise when the motor is at an idle, and just as i begin to pull out. If i pound the gas hard, at higher RPM's, there is no noise.
