Belt questions...
#1
I have a couple of quick questions:
At around 52 hours, my belt indicator light started blinking, and she wouldn't go over 5 mph. It is an early '03 650, but I still figured it was the belt switch since the belt had started to chirp a bit on take-off.
When I opened it, the switch had not been tripped. So my 1st question is: has anyone else had their light start blinking this early? I thought it was supposed to blink every 100 hours or so.
While I was in there, I installed the EPI black spring and a 700 belt. After removing a shim, and installing the new spring and belt, the deflection is now .8125". The belt does whine a little at idle, but once you start moving it feels perfect.
Do you think this is too tight?
Thanks,
-Matt

It isn't too tight. Mine has been like that for 1000 miles. They last longer that way, just dont leave it idling in gear.
