A degree key isn't going to give a big hit of power in any one place in the powerband. What it will do is give a small general increase throughout the entire powerband. You won't feel a big "seat-of-the-pants" increase, but if you start doing accurate timed runs through 200/300/400ft, you will see that something has changed for the better.

Do you need the two gaskets when you install the key? I paid $35 for the gaskets and will be 2 1/2 hours labor at the shop.

I have the two gaskets on order from my local dealer. I paid $14.96 total for them. I will be picking them up Monday or Tues. when ever the come. I will be installing my degree key Monday. I have to wait until the shop closes to borrow their flywheel puller and return it Tuesday morning. Glad I dont have to buy one for a 30 second use and possibly never use it again. I still have my times from the runs I made with the DG3 and Dyna CDI. I will make 5 more runs and see what the results are next weekend.

I had a 4 degree key and dg snorkle put in yesterday at a honda shop. (no Kawasaki shop where I live) They charged me 2 1/2 hours labor for both plus fluid Oil and coolant they had to drain. Also installed a dg3 mod. today and was very easy to do. I just bought my prairie a week ago and have 14 hours on it.
My machine is so new I can't say if there was a big increase because I never timed myself.
I did gain a little top end on my speedo from 61 to 65 mph on a flat stretch of blacktop.
I have stock main jets still because of the altitude of 4,500 '.

Minimus, you are just getting started. Take the mods a little at a time. If you are like me that will keep you interested in atving and not get burned out.
