Default Brute Force Maintenance?????

I know the new Brute Force has IRS like the Grizzly and the Sportsman. Does it have a relatively maintenance free setup, or does it use a large handful of grease fittings like the Sportsmans of old?

I currently have a Grizzly, and want to upgrade to the Brute Force, but don't know about buying a first year quad with a new desing? Any comments?

I own a first year kawasaki. It is fine, as I am sure the first year BF is fine. Just get it.

As far as maintenance info goes, it is too bad that kawasaki doesn't make some kind of deal with that guy that hosts tech tips for the prairie on his website. If we all had access to that same kind of info for the BF it would be awesome.

I cant know.

Paul, you get the BF750 and I will get the KQ700.

plumerman, the only extra maintenance you will have that you are not used to with your Grizzly is the belt adjustment that will have to be made from time to time.

What kind of deal are you looking for from Kawasaki? Is that why your site was momentarily down as far as tech tips?

Default Brute Force Maintenance?????

I picked up the new BF Wednesday night and in going through the manual, I do not see any mention of maintenance needs for the IRS. I don't recall seeing any fittings either, but will check in a bit. It's out in my truck now as I'm going to take it out for the first time this evening after work. Bear with me though, this is my first atv and I have a lot to learn yet. I'm glad I found this site.

I think almost all the maintenance is going to be the same as a P700.

Redgoblin, my website was down for a while the day before yesterday because my processor fried in another machine and I had to boorw the webserver's CPU to test with it.

My website has sold a lot of P650s and P700s. I am sure it could be useful to promote the brute force if I had one. However, if kawasaki is not interested in my website, it might only get used to promote Kissofdeath's KQ. I realize kawasaki doesn't want me as an "affiliate", however, certainly there is something they could do to persuade me to get a BF, especially with all the hits on my website, it would be good to see a BF on it. I would like to see BF photos and info all over on my website.

Not all first year quads suck. Raptor excluded of course. The 02 Grizz was good. 02 Prairie was good. Even the 98 Grizz 600 seemed to have a little edge in some area's over its predecessors (seemed faster for some reason).

First of all, I use and enjoy Nyroc's website and appriceate all the work he has done. I have been visiting the main ATV forums for the last couple years(mostly as a lurker), and was bummed out when Nyroc shut down his site this some months back. I am not suprised Kawasaki has no interest in supporting an amateur ATV tech site. If anything, they might worry about people tearing down their machines in attemtpts of a repair, only to make it worse. We all know how many people seem to lack anything resembling common sense. You'd think they would want You to be at the dealer as much as possible, if anything else to get You to upgrade to a bigger or newer ATV.

That being said, I can't stand dealers, and only as a very last resort would I take either of My Prairies to one without searching far and wide for a decent one. The dealers near me all seem arrogant and act as if Your wasting their time while thinking they have You over a barrel. I find it a fun part of the hobby to do as much maintenance as I can myself while learning about the machine. I am not alone. Now we have internet forums where info on new mods and after-market products available spreads like wildfire. I know guys with ATV's who aren't online, and I now can't imagine not having these great resources available.

So Hats-off to Nyroc and his contribuitors and all the dudes here and at KR!......

I liked Nyroc's tips site but to EXTORT a company like he does is sickening.

You all know the reason he pulled the site out was because Kawi wouldn't give him a new bike. He says all he wants to do is help but in the end it is only to help himself.

I say, go buy a Suzuki nyroc and leave the kawi's to those who appreaciate them.

I also appreaciate the FACT they told you to float your own boat.

Way to go Kawi, you showed morality when confronted with corruption.

Go suck some other company into sending you free stuff, like Dalton. I live in Nova Scotia and I can tell you I will never receive anything free from Dalton. They lost my business by sucking up to the likes of you Nyroc.

Like it or lump it, I don't care.

Go EXTORT Suzuki !!!

I am sure the guy who is hosting the tips now is in it for his fellow Kawi riders and not for profit like Nyroc, so please Nyroc, STUFF your practice of Extortionism. Keep it to yourself !!!
