Belt & black spring on 2003 650
Hello nice site: I have a 03 650 Prairie I going to replace my belt and secondary spring, stock wright now, i order a Dayco belt and EPI black spring. The question i have is my bike has 101 hours and the belt light has not come on, when i replace the stock belt and spring do i have to do the belt light reset procedure, thank you

No, the belt light will nail you only when you are least prepared for it (murphy's law? maybe nyroc's law?).
If is is a late 03, it is not big deal, just a light. If it is an early 03, it will stupidly cause a loss in power for no real reason. My website has info on how to reset the light. You might print the instructions and take em with you on the next ride.

Just a heads up. That 100 service light is really iffy. Mine went at 112 hours, and lots of guys had varying times on thier hour meter. As Nyroc said, take his instructions with ya, you'll only need them once. After you've done it, it becomes real easy to do on the fly. My bro's had a bad ignition switch, and it was causeing the light to come on, sometimes 3 or 4 times a ride. After you've done it once in the dark and the pouring rain, it'll become second nature.
