my 650 4x4 just hit 100 hrs and thje belt lite is stuck on, looked in the manual and it says at 100hrs it should be taken back to dealer for belt inspection, it's preset to come on like this, that's bullcrap, has anyone figured out how to clear this lite yourself and save the service visit, any help would be great thanks brody p.

 

There is a switch inside the belt cover that needs to be switched, there is info about it on Nyrocs website, just do a search and you will find info about it also.

 

At this point to save the hassle later on down the road, it would be best to install the Secondary Spring from either EPI or Dalton and adjust the belt tension. You should never have to adjust the belt again if you do it now until you need a new one and the secondary spring increases belt life overall.

 

you will only need to flip the switch in the belt cover if the belt triggered it. nyrocs site is http://atv.dnsalias.com

 

the reset procedure is a breeze..just make sure the switch inside the cover is pointing towards the back of the machine..regardless of how its labeled..some early 03's are mislabled..mine included..

 

thanks for all the responses, i went to nycos and printed the how to reset belt lite instructions, went home followed them to a tee, and it reset with no problems, again thanks for the info and that site has so much info on the 650, hats off to who ever maintains that site, i also looked at the replacing the rear axle, it sounds easy, has any one ever did it my dealer wants 250 labor does that sound good?

 

if the light starts comin on for no reason its the ingnition goin bad..not the module tho..the unit under the front fender
