Default will timing key make you loose top end?

It should offset the flywheel counterclockwise.

The instructions showed the flywheel being ahead and the key top notch to the left and bottom on the right. Does this sound right to everyone? Still not sure why I lost top end?

The key needs to point to the left just like in my pictures.
