Trouble installing clutch kit in Lakota, clutch nuts
#1
I am trying to put a clutch kit (fibers, and springs) in a Lakota and am having difficulty getting the nut on the one way clutch and the centrifical clutches loose. I have tried using the recoil cup, but ended up shearing off the keyway. I tried a strap wrench, no luck. Not even close. I have heard the best way is an impact wrench. I am going to try that tomorrow. It seems unreasonmably tight. Over 125ft/lbs for sure. Any ideas?

Air impact is the only way I've been able to get those loose. It's like kawi puts them on for keeps. The first time I did one that had never been off I thought it was left handed threads.

Does it take a heavy duty impact? Mines a 90#. I'm not sure of the BPM. Do you have to hold anything, or does the impact just loosen them without turning the motor?
