Default Trouble after installing K&N Air Filter, HELP!

I put the K&N Air Filter in my P700 last night, went for a run today and had all kinds of trouble. First, going down the road at about 50 kph, hit the throttle and nothing, just bogged. Did this a few times. Second, going through a deep water hole, never got near the intake or the air box, and it just died, sounded like it ws running out of fuel. When I tried to restart it, it sounded like it flooded itself. Doesn't make sense. Any suggestions? I was wondering if I should rejet, if anyone thinks that could be past of the problem. I still have the stock jets in. With the old filter, never had a lick of trouble like this.

To trouble shoot, put the OE filter back on and see if the prob goes away.

Well, did you try the OE filter? Result? Did you oil the K&N properly? The jetting shouldn't change that much with just a filter change, although with a modded muffler you would already be on the edge of needing to re-jet. Virually everyone with a modded muffler and an aftermarket filter has upped the jetting.

Default Trouble after installing K&N Air Filter, HELP!

I'm going on an 8hr run this weekend, with the club, I will take both filters with me and change them around to see if it makes a difference.

Is it possible you dropped any dirt into the carb. Changing an air filter will not give you the problems you described.

I am sure I didn't drop anything in the carbs.

i`d say you prolly neeed to re-jet, is the factory filter a foam one, if so the K&N will lean it out over a stock foam one, that is how K&N makes power by flowing more air into the cylinder, at the vary least i`d say go up one on the main, and changing out the pilots wouldn`t be bad either, the best thing to is go by the plug color, you are looking for a nice tan color, hope this helps
