Default Brute V. P700=$500 difference, what would you do ?

It looks like we are going to be adding a utility quad to the stable. I went to the dealer today and checked out both the P700 and the Brute, bottom line is just less than $500 difference in the out the door price. They had a P700 and Brute side by side, have to say the Brute looks impressive. In all reality, the P700 would have more then enough power for my needs as the bike is going to be used for snow removal, informal ice racing and riding on tight single track that is filled with lots of rocks. I'm wondering if the IRS will benefit in the rocks. My buddy and I rode yesterday and I had little difficulty with the Vforce in the rocks, with the exception of a few brutal hill climbs that would have been hard for anything short of a 4X4. I'm stuck on my decision. The extra $500 would buy decent rubber for the P700, thinking of 589's for the winter.

How's the snow plow package that Kawa offers ? I have a new Warn 2500 sitting in the box so I don't need the winch. Speaking of the winch, I asked and they stated that they received the mounting plate for the Brute today. Anyone waiting should be seeing them soon.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide !

The price difference is $100 here... I almost have my heart set on a Team Green Prairie700 but I am still reading on the BF and trying to figure it all out.

There are tons of mods and aftermarket parts readily available for the P700 right now, and little to no aftermarket parts for the BF.

Also note that this is the 1st year for the BF and there will be bugs to work out, same as the P700 was a few years ago.

Also of note the Suzuki KQ700 will be a lil cheaper than the BF if you can wait a couple more weeks, but no reviews yet, and might have bugs with it too.

The decision is driving me crazy, but at least I am narrowing it down.

Don't I have enough to figure out in my life, to have to try to decide on THAT?!! Congrats on the new Ute purchase! I am more than sure that you will be happy with either one. The IRS is supposed to be good in rocks, I hear. The SRA is great for work, and for sliding around corners, though. Keep us posted

For you, I would say get the P700 due to the uses you indicated (i.e. ice racing and tight, single track riding). Also, there is no better quad in the snow than a Prairie.

BRUTE FORCE by far. you're not gonna be racing around, so you'll want a more comfortable ride, and the IRS will be great on those rocks. also, the brute will EASILY shine over the prairie in the snow. you won't have a back axle draggin in the snow and getting you hung up. we have a blade for our sportsman 500 and man it will push alot of snow, the IRS is great, don't get hung up. we used to have SRA machines without blades and they would get hung up in snow from the rear axle dragging. spend the extra 500 and enjoy the powerful, comfortable ride of the BF.

For your uses, esp. ice racing, and snow pushing, I would recommend the P-700. You can buy a few accessories with the money saved. I like the BF, but for YOUR specific uses, the P-700 is the way to go, IMO. I will own a BF, after the prices come down, and I see what SUZI is offering by next spring.

If you are going to race, get the P700. There is no way that the BF will handle the corners/curves like a P700. IF you can wait, it is strongly rumored that there will be a P750, or P800, EFI next year. I think that would be the machine to have!
