Ran into the same problem on my new KFX 700 today sort of, After a few hours of playing I did a couple high speed passes and it started smoking, alot, after a quick inspection the airbox was filled with a few tablespoons of engine oil, after doing a little more checking and research I found that the crankcase is directly vented to the airbox and under high excelleration or steep hill climbs etc. if your crankcase is filled to the full mark it will SUCK oil from the crankcase to the airbox thus smoking like a sum b*tch for a minute or so and run like crap until it clears the oil, drain a little oil until you have your level in the middle between the hi & lo marks and this should solve your problem, if not you can route the crankcase vent to the bars with a check valve and solve it that way, but the adjusting my oil level has cured mine Clean your airbox and filter too so you reference how if it has helped.

BlownBF,
I read in a magazine (ATV Action I think) that the BF uses a lighter crank than the Prairies. If this is true, I have to wonder if the BF cranks are more susceptible to breaking than the Prairie's crank.
Happy trails...

Well got it back today, they claim there was water in the air box and mud that clogged the drain holes. The way the snorkle is set up, it seems any front end splashes will cause the airbox to grab water. The say its made to go in deep water but what at 2mph? Never had that problem on my prairie 700. I am going to have to check this out, because we do hard mud ridding and a machine that chokes out that easy isn't for me. i will continue on trying it and hopefully it was so freak accident. let me know how your guys brute does in the water.
