Lakota reverse problem
#1
Ok, got a 95? lakota and the problem is that whenever you go and click down into neutral it acts like you have the reverse switch on, because it goes right into reverse. Not fun when you accidently downshift too much. If I turn the reverse switch, you can see the arm on the side of the tranny moving, so its not stuck. Any ideas what could cause this?

Try tightening the clutch, maybe it's slipping past nuetral.....the only other thing I could think of is the reverse cable to tight.....but you say it's fine.....hmm....could be a bad transmission...it is an older bike right?....
see if you have any more info

I just had the exact same problem a few weeks ago when I put on new KG clutch plates/springs. After about 2 days of driving with the problem, it just stopped and has been fine ever since. Dont know what i did that fixed it. Just keep driving it and see if it goes away(try driving it in reverse for a few seconds, then forward through all the gears........repeat that a few times and let me know if it works.)

Ya, its not my bike, but the tight cltuches doesnt make any sense. nothings been played with. Apparently the guy let some kid use the bike for a bit and then it started doing that. I dont know how many times it happened but it may have just been a litte quirk.
