Belt cost for Prarie 300/This can't be right!!!!
#1
A good friend and riding buddy of mine needed to replace the belt on his Prarie 300 (It has seen a lot of abuse and rough handling). I voluntered to change it for him and we rode to the local Kawasaki dealer where he purchased a belt for (get this)$106.00 , This must be a mistake!!!!! The belt was labled Mitsubishi on the back of it just like the stock belt. I just have trouble believing this price, A belt for a Polaris with EBS,which is both longer and wider is only around $30.00 at our local dealer. If anyone else can confirm this price on the Prarie belt I would greatly appreciate it, I just have a feeling that he may have gotten a bad deal on this belt. I am currently looking for a aftermarket belt for the next one.
By the way , got the new belt on in minutes and we are riding tommorow.

You might check with a mail-order parts merchant, like Midwest ((800) 343-9065), for a comparison price. Parts pricing policies appear left up to the local dealerships entirely. The manufacturers do not interfere; in fact, the manufacturers may have no legal leverage in this arena. In my area (containing the most affluent counties in the world), the dealers routinely kite up the selling price of all parts, with a special kicker for the small stuff.

No current after market belts are available yet to my knowledge. I had the same problem and searched around. I got the same belt you did for $74.00 shipping included. I even looked to see if a Polaris belt was available in the same size. No bids. A suggestion is to have one made for you. You should be able to have someone make one for you at a cheaper cost.
