Default 2003 prairie 360

I have a 2003 prairie 360 that is giving me some problems. Any suggestions for a repair would be much appreciated(i am tired of giving the dealer i bought it from 300.00 dollars every 3 months). First the belt started squelching every time i started to pull a steep hill, then the engine brake stopped working and the 4 wheel drive light started flashing, then the fan quit working and the temp light started coming on,and now the thing takes of as soon as you put it in gear without giving it any gas!!! This last problem acts just like being in a car with a standard transmission and coming to a stop without pushing in the clutch. I bought a service manual and the 4 wd light flashing is showing a mai functioning engine brake actuator. Not sure what to do with this quad,it has less than 300 hours on it! This bike is very slow to. I have a friend who has a 400 artic cat and he leaves me in the dust on straight aways! Any way if any body has any ideas please let me know.

Hey Boarchaser

sorry to hear about your 360P problems----sounds like you have a serious belt problem---I dont fully understand the belt concept yet, but I would not hesitate (especially with the manual to help) to start taking belt cover off and see whats going on with this thing.

there is a search function on this site that you can type key words into and you should be able to get all the answers you need

Dont be afraid to start taking your clutches apart yourself and diagnosing the problem--

I think that maybe your clutches could be slowing you down a bit, but the 360 is not very fast---I dont ever think you will beat a 400 in a speed race---If you tinker with the needle jets in the carb or buy a jetting kit, you should be able to get some satisfaction with an improved mid-range--- welcome aboard and keep us posted----and learn how to use the search function on this website

You also might want to disable the engine brake control or remove it to diagnose your problem---rumor has it that removing it increases your HP slightly
