Default Kawasaki, is my dealer dishonest or just dumb?

Or is it me that's so dumb...... went to my dealer yesterday, the glass or plastic is cracked on my display, which is a 2 x 3 piece.

also wanted the two bushing that go in my driven clutch.

According to the parts guy I needed to buy a complete display for over $500.00 and a complete driven clutch for over $500.00. I didn't say anything and just left, but I was pretty sure there were part # for these two pieces on Buykawasaki.com. I wouldn't think these two parts wouldn't be more than $50.00.

Is the dealer telling me the truth or are they shafting the customers by selling thing they don't need.

Its hard to say, have you checked buykawasaki to see? I havent paid much attention to the display unit. Does it look like it would come apart?

Yes I've had mine apart, the part # for the glass is 92161, if it has a part # you can buy it seperate can't you.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for the parts, whatever it is, but just seemed strange you couldn't buy seperate pieces when it is broken down in the manual.

Shotgun, how are you making out with the bushing search? I need the same and it would be easier to buy bushings that fit rather than getting them turned out.

Scott, I was told by a guy that needed the same bushing that he bought them for $6.00 each from the same dealer that tried to sell me the hole clutch.....something stinks in.....Maine.

I have a company that will make some but wanted to buy the right one if they were sold by Kawasaki.

I'll talk to the guy again and see how he made out. I'll let you know.

I got bushings machined out of brass at the local machine shop. I used the dimensions posted(on Nyrocs site??), not sure what they were now. Have yet to actually install the new bushings tho, so I can't say for sure if the dimensions are correct. I think it was 44mm od x 40mm id x 22mm deep??

My original bushings are not so much wore out as falling apart. They seem to have some kind of fibre?? surface, the last time I was into the clutch I was able to make scratches in the bushing surface with my fingernail. Didn't seem to good to me, but dealership said they were fine, lol.
Never looked into avail. of bushings from Kaw cause I figured even if I could get them they'd be made of the same crap.
