They are different brands. Both are have preload adjusters but the Elkas are a dual rate spring which allows it to keep its smooth ride at slow speeds while offering a lot better control at high speeds in rough terrain. I wish I put my Elkas on two years ago. It makes a big difference in every riding aspect and are worth every penny to me. Mine cost $225 shipped from http://www.artdesignedmotorsports.com/.

I have the Elka's also. I don't do lots of racing type riding and have them at the softest preload. Nice! They really soak up the large stuff in slow technical type of riding too.

I agree 100% with therock. Also we got 100% rain today on our 2 hour 10 mile ride LOL. nyroc got stuck but got loose and I almost turned over in the same hole. Think of the memories we wouldnt have had if we didnt ride.

BTW, cold air intake mod worked excellent in the rain. If you dont know what the "cold air intake" mod is, check out my site and click on Prairie 650 modifications and you will see the cold air intake mod folder.

you noticed improvement with your cold air intake?

i notice i have to hang on tighter when i remove the oval cover

so does your mileage seem worse with the bigger jets/

i seem to go thru gas faster with the 142-145 jets

I seen a big improvement down low with the new jetting at 150/148 and the cold air intake mod makes that possible. Without the extra air it wouldnt be possible to burn all that fuel. I can distroy a P700 up to about 250' where he starts gaining on me. Now its time for me to go internal. I have maxed my performance out and the jetting was the thing that has proved it.

I cant say what the milage is but it has to be less than before.
