Default Module gone bad? How to test ???

Alltoys,
any idea what the difference between the regular and premium module are. I read the info on both and did not see anything different. In the picture I can see one with four wires and one with three, why.

I thought about getting a dyna but they still seem to have problems. Mabe I will wait for VDI's new CDI.....

Default Module gone bad? How to test ???

Update...
I removed the assumed broken freedom module and was ready to hook it up in stock form when I decided to try it directly connected to the battery and voila, my speedo read 20 kms. It would appear that whatever cut my tip over sensor wire also severed either the ground or power connection to the module.
