I was checking out a Prairie 700 at the dealer the other day, asked if they
are having any problems, (I know the dealer, he's honest with me) and he
said people are having overheating problems with the Prairies.
He suggested removing the side shields to open it up more. Maybe it
would get more air that way. I thought it resonable since my Vinson
doesnt have those and I have never heard of any overheating with the
Vinson.
Something to try..??

Yes, Evan is a great product. But, since I added my dynatek cdi, I haven't had any heating problem anymore. Better ignition program, delivering all the power the Prairie can give and no agressive timing shut-down that cuts the power on low, mid and top end causing the engine over heat.

Fastwax.....I have an 02 and have NEVER overheated.I do run water wetter and I am not sure that has helped or not.I never saw the hot light before adding it.I will say they are picky about keeping the radiator clean.I am not saying you did not but you have to REALLY check the whole thing. Two of our guys made this mistake once and both overheated.I use a trouble light from the back side and look from the front to look the entire radiator over.I can ride two full days at Hatfield/McCoy and never have a problem...probably more as long as I start out with a clean radiator.I t happens to all............we had a Rubi overheat for the same reason and a YFZ 450 too. I know the Honda guys are falling all over themselves right now but yes.......we have troubles with the hondas too
Clean it good and add water wetter or purple ice and all should be well.

Got a new 750 and it over heats after every deep mud hole I go through even though there is no indication(getting it looked at). Need to find a creek and wash the rad thoroughly then I can ride again. I want to fabricate a crap guard similar to the polaris's. Just have to learn how to weld. I think the japanese should have built one for me.
