Default Need a new radiator for Prairie 650....

Well, somehow a branch pushed its way up into my radiator and dented the radiator a good bit. I noticed it today when pulling the front plastics and don't know if the dent will affect the performance/cooling of the machine. So far the machine has run fine and the fan hasn't come on more than normal. However, I figured while its apart I might as well replace it to be safe.

So, my question is does anyone have a stock Prairie 650 radiator they would like to sell (or know of someone that does?) or Are there aftermarket aluminum radiators available?

Also, is there an aftermarket radiator guard made from steel? The stock one is an aluminum POS! Thank you for your anticipated timely responses....By the way, this forum is an awesome source of information and I appreciate all of the members that contribute to it!

I destroyed my radiator with a stick and this is what I did. My dealer wanted 478$ for a new one. I got on e-bay and researched motorcycle radiators. When I found one the right size I bought it for 21.50$ With shipping it was about 30 dollars. I fabed a fan shroud and had to do a little change on hoses but it works BETTER than stock. The radiator I got was from a 92 Ninja and even though it was slightly shorter, it is about 30% thicker. My 650 runs cooler and more consistant than ever. Because it was shorter I could move the lower cover upward and havent had to clean it the last 7 rides. I think the shroud made the biggest difference. It forces the fan to pull air through the entire radiator rather than just the center.
