Default BF recall and hesitation question

i just got the recall notice in the mail and it say they have replace the front a-arm pivot bolts because they can back out. i looked at mine and i can see all of the threads coming through the nut so they seem long enough and everything is tight. wondering what could be the problem. and i have a miss or hesitation about 12-16 mph. i heard that the front carb is too rich and that and the mixture screw needs to be adjusted. is it just the mixture screw or does the needle need to be replaced? seems a little rich because it did backfire once evening when i got on it. i dont have the guts to do any carb adjustments myself just yet so i think ill let the dealer play with it i just did the first service myself at about 10 hrs. definitly easier than my rubicon

I didn't see anything wromg with the bolts on mine, but i did fix the miss that mine had. I replaced the stock 152 main jets with 168 main jets and a little tweeking on the mixture screws and it came alive.

Actually what seems to be working is a richer front jet needle. From what I've read Kawa is replacing them on a complaint/request basis. I thought I had the low speed stuble when I first got the Brute but it only happened once and it was still cold. Has not happened again. The part number for the NFKL needle jet is 16187-0156.

thanks for the info, i just saw on another forum that the hesitation actually comes the retading on low end timing and that kawasaki was going to let the dealers know how to adjust it. just something i saw. ohh and does regular blue loctite work on those darn heatshield bolts?
