2/4WD Flashing on P700?
Does anyone know why this is flashing?
I could stop the flashing by replugging the control unit but it comes back again after a while. I don't think I'm fixing it though. I'm just resetting it. My dealer replaced actuator and controller and other stuff but the flashing just keeps coming back later while riding. There is no permanent damage on the machine that I know of because everything works fine after resetting. Has anyone come up with a permanent fix?

2/4WD Flashing on P700?
Since it was the 2-sec interval, dealer replaced both 4wd diff and engine brake actuators. When the problem happened again, they replaced the control unit. But that didn't last long, so they replaced the CDI box and that didn't help either (what does CDI box have to with the 2/4WD flashing!!??). After that I tweaked the fuses and put some di-electric grease on the fuses outside to prevent any dust/water going in, and that seemed to work for a while but the problem came back. Now I am kind of tired going back to dealer every time, so I am just resetting it and keep on riding. Even though I haven't spent a dime on any of the parts (probably they were all good parts that got replaced because the problem is still there!), it is just too much a hassle. I just want to put an end to this problem...

Below is what Nyroc has to say about it. In addition, when I finally took mine into the dealer, he pulled off the side belt cover, found that there was lots of dust inside that was keeping the KBEC from operating, so he blew out all the dust and that fixed it.
Nyroc's comments:
Page 38 of manual says:
flashing 2wd/4wd indicator lights signal a malfunction of the kawasaki engine brake control system or the selectable 2wd/4wd system. A flashing interval of 0.5 seconds indicates a malfunction with the 2wd/4wd actuator, a 1 second interval indicates the KEBC actuator is malfunctioning, a 2 second interval indicates both actuators are malfunctioning.

Apparently, the fuses under the seat could be to blame for many people's flashing lights. So, before you waste time and energy diagonosing problems with the 4x4 selector and KEBC, try this tip from OldmanWheeler:
"Pull out each fuse and take a pair of pliers and just barely twist the ends of the fuse. I also took a small screw driver and tweaked the clips in the box. The idea is to make sure the fuse fit real tight. Once you have a tight fit use a small screw driver to place die-electric grease between the fuse contacts. Once that is done I filled the cap, closed it and filled all openings. Once this was done I never had any more problems. According to the Kaw person who told me how to fix this, it's been a problem, especially on the new P700's"
