Default Force lost power

here lately the old V has been loosing some power, right now its in the shop getting a new belt put on because i could pinch the belt together between my clutches. do you think that was the only problem. all i have is a k&n filter and the pink spring what seems to be the major malfunction.
P.S. 400 ex can easily beat the v and that aint right

re: Losing power
It could well be just too much belt deflection, but
1). read plugs.
2). make sure choke plungers are not partially open.
3). do a leak check and, then, the compression check.
4). check the cam shaft lobes for any wear.
