Prairie Gold Paint

Has anyone bought or even found any paint that is close to this color??? I was wanting to touch up some racks and bumpers where they are raw and it would be nice to have when resale time comes.

Go to your nearest automotive auto body supply paint store with your rack and and ask to see their paint books. In the paint books there will be 50 bizillion, maybe 100 bizillion colors. You can match one up. If close and your nice they can tint it to match. They can make you up a 1/2 pint or so. You can also buy a refillable aerosol spray gun for about $15 bones or so.

A modern paint shop can color match the racks, but why stop there. Find the number and send them to get powder coated. It is a lot tougher and lasts longer. When mine get bad enough, thats what I am going to do.

I had my racks on the Kodiak rhino lined. That worked pretty good but they were black, like the bumper and grille.
If I did that I would do the bumper too.I know a guy that powdercoats here in town.Of course you have to have the stuff sandblasted prior to doing it.

I purchashed a can of matching gold paint from Kawasaki. It was a perfect match. However, it was $25 for one spray can and then you have to buy clear coat to spray over it. One can did both racks, rack extensions and a kimbex bumber. If I had to do it again I would have them rhino lined to match.

Dont go with the gold. Sand those racks and rhino line them. I did mine my self with the Automotive store product about $7.00 a can and it took 2 cans. Holds up hard as a rock and looks good. Easy to repair if you get a gouge in it just sand down the gouge and rhino over it. I love it.. Or take to a professional to do probably only cost about $100.00. Mine dosnt peal flake or scratch.
