Default CDI Unit

I have a question, will a klr250 black box hook right up to a mojave stock wiring? Also does the 400ex carb have the same outside diamiter on the air box end, as the stock cvk34 carb?

I am planning on puting a stage two cam on it, so far I am going to put a klr black box on it, a 400ex carb. Now I do not know about cams, never have done one before, I believe I will need to get aftermarket valve springs, am I correct? What else do I need to put it in, if anything?

MojaveMoron250,

Here's some information about the KLR250 wiring:

Once you have the CDI box you can either "hard wire" it in with electrical tape or remove the plastic end caps from your original and plug in the new ones. You may want to write how the wires went in case you want to undo the changes you make.

The wiring is as follows:
(The 2 wire cap)
black to red/green
black/yellow to blue/red

(The 4 wire cap)
green/white to black/white
black/yellow to black
white/blue to white
red/white to red and red/blue

Hope this helps........
