Default DG5 ride report

You guys are killing me with all this talk about the dg5. I should have mine by Wed or thur. My wheel kit should be here about the same time to. The dg5 guy I talked to said it had a computer chip in it and you can see in it. Does it and how does it keep dry if youy can open it up?

Default DG5 ride report

My dg5 came on wednesday as promised and all I can say is holy c??p. I thought the brute was quick before but nothing like now. It came with some color pics in the instruction which I needed and the wires are tight in there. The dg5 is smaller than I thought. It is less than an inch big. It has the switch sticking out of this clear stuff and inside you see electronic stuff and something blue blinks in there for on. I see why the switch now, one way for stock, and on for really watch out. Before it can lift the front with a little help, but now i can lay over the bars and up it comes up anyway. When I first test it I sat on the seat and nailed the gas from a roll and it almost went over on me. They said it boosts power over 20% and over 7hp and you can feel every one. I didnt believe it would do this for only 140 bucks. I ran from my driveway to end of the street and it went 62mph and was pulling had still. I can only get to 56mph with the switch off and same place. My wheels and tires are supposed to be here today so I can try it with those to. Thanks for the advice guys I am one satisfyed customer.

if your light keps coming on its probably a short in the key switch under the front fender...they wear out from mud and water under there and sometimes need to be replaced...been there done that..and the dg# is the best bang for the buck...ive tested both..repeatedly..

My belt light can be reset but as soon as I nail it or let off the gas from full throttle it turns on. This is a dangerous thing to happen if you are climbing a hill when it occurs. I removed the thin shim when I put in the black spring and just recently switched that one for the thin one. I can't see an accurate way to check for belt deflection but my belt measures 1.125 " so am considering a Dayco belt. Will removing all shims help with this or do I need to get the other belt?

Also my bike has 101 hrs on it and all of these problems started at 98 hrs. I thought it might be the 100 hr checkup but I don't think so.
Can this be because of the extra power down low from my mods? I also tend to run around in high range unless I am in the technical stuff or pulling a load. My belt has never smoked or slipped at all......is this normal wear?

Thanks and sorry for highjacking this topic.
Chris

I think this is the Dalton clutch kit completely winding out "3rd" gear and then finally shifting into 4th.
Huh? I think you should check both the primary and secondary clutch for binding. Sounds like the sheaves are getting hung up and not sliding freely. The motion of the clutch should be seamless, with no sensation of "shifting" through gears.
