Default ITP 589 vs Outlaw

Just how much better is the Outlaw in Gumbo mud than the 589? I know the 589 and Muzilla and pretty close.

I am thinking about going from my 27" 589's to some 29.5" Laws on my B.F.

Aside from the height difference how much improvement will I find?

Here is just a suggestion. You shouldn't even have 27 inch tires as it is now. First of all you screw up the 4x4 as well as you put stress on the drive axles. I would downsize to 26 or keep 27 and just let the motor and torque do the work. If you go bigger you're only askign for problems. Take my advice.

also a lot of the riding you will do have so much more to do with the rider than the tires...a praire 650 with 26in Dirt Devils could get stuck were my stock eiger would keep going...if you like do hit the gas really hard the bigger tires will get you stuck quicker if they spin...especally in snow i could beat that praire going anywhere just because the rider...now on to answer your question i would do what jrt2007 said and keep the tires at about a 26-27 inchers you don't lose as much power (not really an issue for a Brute) and you'll have a better ride

I ran both I run Outlaws most of the time because of the mud I am usually going through. Here is what I found some facts if you will. The Outlaws inner rib will rub on the fuel tank so you may have to install ITP wider rims. 27 inch Outlaws are 1# heavier than 589's the rolling resistance is by far greater with the Outlaws, top end speed is reduced by 10 mph not so with the 589's. A simple test is try to move the quad on a hard surface 589's move much easier than the Outlaws. Outlaws are bumpy up to 5mph not so with 589's. Personaly Outlaws have no equal in the mud once your forward motion stops let off the gas and don't dig a hole because you will high centre yourself. Outlaws are the best cleaning tire I have found 589's are about 3rd - 4th spot down on the list in mud.

I have miles and miles on my 589 28" and no machanical problems at all from the tires. I run em in snow not mud. Also for a point of interest my 26 mudlights are very close to the size of my 28" 589.
