I'm running the Almond secondary and the Maroon primary on my B.F. and so far I really like this set up. I'm also running 25" tires and did not want the higher engagement of some other springs.

The Dalton Pro Clutch kit only comes w/ one spring and it's Orange. They said the stock secondary spring in the B.F. is fine.

I'm not advocating the use of the EPI almond spring in the secondary. This is something I wanted to do personally to hopefully promote better belt life. The reason I did not go with the Dalton orange/blue spring is because I did not want the higher stall rate of that spring. I'm running stock size tires and like the near stock engagement of the maroon spring. The stock spring rates are 0/155 and the maroon rates are 1.10/169.84. I am running the Dyna CDI so with the Brute's low end plus the enhancement on the low end from the Dyna the initial engagement is perfect for me. I also like it better for climbing hills. If I were running 27"/28" tires and road mud like I use to I would have opted for the Dalton Kit. Most of my riding is trails. hills, some rock and mud, but not deep mud like I road with my Rubicon. The maroon spring gives more aggressive engagement once you're 9-10mph and greater. I am going to change tires in the next couple of months. I will probably go with the big horn radials which are heavier tires and will hook up better than the XTR's I have now. The maroon spring should help with these tires. At 20-25 miles I can spin XTR's easily with the set up I have now. Stock they would hook up at these speeds. I like the more aggressive feel in the mid-range. It seems to get up to speed faster. When running stock on the street from my house which is up hill I would reach 44-45mph at a certain point now at the same point I am running 52-53mph. If I am on pavement at 20-25mph the front comes up without pulling up on the bars. I would guess the motor revs. approximately 300 rpms(guess) higher than stock. At least that is what it sounds like once you get past the initial engagement. If you are looking for a more profound engagement then go with the Dalton orange/blue. It's rates are 25/167. Like I said I peferred the lower stall of the maroon spring. I am not running large diameter tires so I did not feel I needed the higher stall rate. For me I really like the set up. I apologize for being so long winded.
