Major Dif. Lock damage caused by Snow Trax
I luv these Trax but , I had to find out the hard way that if you use the Dif. Lock on the Prairie 650 and have the Trax on , it can do some major damage to the front differential. Especially if your pushin through very deep snow and turning at the same time. The whole basket holding the friction disks of the front dif. (dif lock) got twisted and almost cracked open the dif cassing because of the extreme traxion and demand of the Trax.
approx costs of repairs ; $1000 . It damaged the pinion bearing , the left side axle bearing and the whole dif lock basket , complete with disks.
NOTE TO SELF!! Do NOT use dif lock when using Snow Trax.

lovdamud, I just had my CDI and actuator go on mine I really don't think the tracks made it go. I just had my rear track main bearing went. I use diff lock with the tracks but the power is low at the time of diff is in, I just ease the machine when I engage the locker.
