Default BF or KQ?

This is for faster paced riding like I do,in the MUD the AC would be toward the top if not on the top , the polaris and BF right there next , then the Outlander and Suzuki and grizzly. This is just my opinion since I may only have a few hundred miles on the others. Kawie could definitley make there IRS better no argument there , I may very well go back to Suzuki one of these days but right now Kawie appeals to me the most with the good suspension and the best motor ever made and the best brakes ever made and good ground clearence and a nice ride to boot. They all have there plus and minus you just have to figure out what you want out of you quad and research that type of riding.
thesitv3 , I am not sure where you "original post" came from , I still have not seen it , but I can tell you this much owning does not mean you are an expert , years of experice get you closer that anything, I ride with a KQ every weekend and we switch quite often just to do the same challenges on each others ATV, the KQ does slide better because of the less rear bite it has , I am one of the lucky guys that gets to try stuff right then to campare and not go home and switch quads., if you are not an inexpericed rider then the KQ would be the best choice , hands down, I can , have and still do take my BF every where my buddies KQ goes. It takes more time to learn a BF but if you can't do everything on your BF that you can on your KQ it is you not the quad. All I have done is put ATR's on my quad with no wheel spacers and that was because the already had the ATR's put up , the stock tires in the BF are great "factory" tires , much better than any previous tires on a Kawie or Suzuki.

Did you read the article Scott Kilby put out about that race , he had around a 4 hour lead and the quad started to pull oil into the breather box , and finally killed the quad , he said the his mechanic over filled the quad wih oil which when he hit the 80mph section that was when the vacuum pulled the oil in , when it started smoking they put just put more oil in with out checking it. He was definitley kicking butt till the mechanic's error caught up with them.

JEFFRO31- The original post is the first post on this topic that I created that you read and "expanded on" if you could call it that. Again, I didn't put myself out as an expert, I just own both so I can readily compare both. You said yourself that "it takes more time to learn a BF", so in effect, you're conceding the whole argument. Please understand that I'm not trying to bash the BF, it's my favorite too. I'm just saying that the BF's IRS isn't as good as the KQ's. You're in the minority if you believe it is. All the atv publications agree with me. I would venture to say that MOST people in here agree with me also. I bet if we polled just BF owners they would agree also, if they had a chance to compare both.

LOL...well said yet again CAM650!

Do you think it's possible to mod the KQ to give it more power...maybe comparable to the BF? Also, since you like the BF better will you now be selling the KQ?

I am pumped for a BF in march but, would have to think long and hard if they could make that KQ match the low end power of the BF , the V's just pump out sooo much torque. I will sacrafice some ride for the power of the BF.

That brings me to my second question. Everyone LOVEs the V twin so why did Suzuki go with the other way? What advantages if any does the single have over the V...maybe gas milage? Will all brands go to the V and is it just a matter of time?

Weight and more importantly, cost. 2 carbs, 2 cylinders, 2 pistons and rods, 8 valves verses 1 of everything (well, 4 valves). That left Suzuki enough leeway to incorporate fuel injection and some other goodies, and still be able to sell the KQ as cheap or cheaper than the BF.

Default BF or KQ?

Awe what the heck, I'll chime in. I have NOT ridden both, but I have heard good things about the Zookie.

I do have a BF with 26" C rims and 589's and I am thrilled with it's performance. Sure, there were a few bugs to work out, but thats minor compaired to the machines strengths. Here is my comparison summary:

- The Zook prolly rides nicer since the BF is pretty stiff and doesn't "give" much.
- Both engines are strong as bulls, but a twin is a twin and therefore it is
- Features overal are comparable, I personally would prefer EFI so the Zook has an edge in cold weather here.
- The Kawi braking system for the rear rocks...period.
- Price differences are negligible.

So then...just get the one that you thinks looks the best.... the point here is that neither will disappoint

Thanks everyone. I would love a BF but it is the lack of EFI that make me lean toward the KQ. Living in Alaska makes this function something that's real nice to have. I would love to wait until 06 to see what comes out or the improvement of these two quads but I need another ATV this Summer.

Have you done a actuall drag with the BF and KQ? I plan on doing a drag with my sp800 and it would be good to see how each did.
