My brand new Prairie 700 4X4 won't start!!!!!
I got my Prairie 700 about a week ago. We used it once but now it won't start. The dealer I bought it from is about a 45 miles away and the local dealer is telling me that it would take them 2 weeks to take a look at it because we did not buy it from them.
Has anyone else had a similar problems with these kawasaki Prairie 700 ATVs??????Text

Well 45 miles isn't too bad of a drive and is much better than waiting 2 weeks for them to look at it and then another week to fix it.
Funny how they won't see it for 2 weeks though just because you bought it somewhere else. They would be making money off of it since it is Warrenty work.

It cranks, sometimes it starts but it shuts off. Dealer told me on the phone it might be the spark plugs. Also, they asked me if I left the choke on too long but I did not. They can't tell me exactly what is wrong with it. Has 3 hours and only 8 miles on the ATV. Is this a common problem? because in the troubleshooting part of the manual there are only 3 things mentioned and 2 of them about either if the ATV does not start or stops after it starts (manual does not tell you waht to do about it). Thanks for the answers........

Make sure your kill switch is not on or Gas turned off, gas is in gas tank, choke is fully on, bike in neutral, and battery is charged with tight battery lead connections, and plugs cleaned or replaced. Check your fuses, reseat your CDI, check oil level/service as required and start it.
If Bike is cold-soaked, Spray a couple burst of starting fluid in airbox, close lid and try above starting procedures again.
If machaine turns over quickly but don't start ensure you are getting spark by pulling a plug and turning over engine with the plug still attached to plugwire and plug resting against engine. If getting fire on both plugs Reinstall plugs.
Next remove your fuel line from Petcock an turn key on to see if gas flows. If gas is flowing from fuel line turn off key & remove other fuel line from petcock and place a low pressure air gun to fuel petcock and blow air while you cycle petcock from off to on. Re-attach lines And restart with aforementioned procedures. IF no luck, guess you have to visit dealer

Thanks for everyones quick answers. I don't know a whole alot about fixing ATVs. I am going to have my friend take a look at it with your directions and if he can't fix it I guess I have to take it to a dealer. The reason I bought a brand new ATV because I did not want to deal with fixing a used one. But, I hope this will be a quick fix and I can enjoy riding it. I checked all the simple stuff (I am not out of gas, oil is full, choke is pulled when I try to start it, etc.) Thanks againg to everyone especially to tuffEnuffor detailed instructions.
