2001 650 Prairie questions.
I am looking at a 2001 650 Prairie online. Is this a good machine. I don't know much about utility quads and I am trying to get a used one at a reasonable price. Do they have locking front diffs, are they fully automatic, and do they have a solid rear axle? I am trying to stay away from IRS machines. How fast are they? I am looking for general info on these macines. I will be doing some trail riding and some hauling. I don't ride much, that's why I don't want a new machine. Thanks

2002 was the first year of the prairie 650 ,I bought one as soon as they came out. They came out in 2001 but the where 2002 models. There are the same as the praire 700 except a smaller motor and same as a BF 650 with different plastic. The are SRA , they have a diff lock , wet brake on the rear and will run 65-67 mph.

Bought my 02 650 the 1st week they were out and I have'n't been dissappointed since! locking diff = YES - 2, 3 or 4wd. fully automatic = YES - High, Low, Neutral and Reverse. Solid Rear Axle = YES. The only complaint that I have about them is the noise from the drive belt and the fact that the swingarm bearings need to be greased when you buy it.
