Poor King quad owners Reverse problem
Suzuki has introduced what they call a "Product Update Campaign". You have no real choice in that you have to do the "Update" or your warranty will become invalid as it states, "To maintain the continuity of the warranty and ensure the durability of the transmission, it is mandatory that a replacement ecm be installed at no cost to the customer for parts or labor on all affected king quads within vin range." As of the day that was posted, every machine out there, sold or on the dealer floors, needed the new ECM. That was from a local dealer near me from the fax he got concerning this issue. We should be receiving something in the mail about this shortly.
This is something I came across in the suzuki forum I just wanted to share the information for more info and pics check out nirocs site here: http://atv.dnsalias.com/tipview.cgi?dir=King_Quad
I fell bad for the King quad owners because this issue is not new and Suzuki seems to be slow with the answers to this problem. I feel that the more informed we are the better for everyone involved in this sport and maybe others will learn from Suzuki's mistake when more information about the exact cause of this problem is known. If you are considering buying a Kingquad do your homework and ask your suzuki reps about this problem not only can you save yourself from a buying a vehicle with a possible transmission recall but you may force Suzuki to come up with a fix for current Kning quad owners, in no way am I knocking the King quad as I stated we only have a limited amount of information at this time so im simply saying beware of this and if enough people ask the Suzuki reps about this problem than that may force Suzuki to revisit their position and act more quickly now and in the future.
enjoy your atv whatever the make and keep saftey in mind when you ride and remeber to have fun!
