I am looking at a 2001 kawasaki bayou 300 and i would like to know if the rear diffrential locking system makes this machine climb very well and i would like to know if it this atv gets stuck a lot because i have a honda fourtrax 4x4 and would just like to know if this kawasaki 2x4 can keep up with my honda 4x4. We are just getting into the sport, so we appreciate your feedback.

 

I dont know if this is too late or what. I just found this site. Most ATVs have locked rear ends. The reason for the differential unlock in the Bayou 300 4x2 is so that you can drive around on turf without tearing it up. You can also do a little more on paved surfaces without tearing up tires so much. This machine climbs OK. I had an old guy tell me one time that 4wheeling is all about tires and technique. I know experience will outperform 4 wheel drive.
