Default Dynatek CDI ???

So it has been a year or so since I last logged on. In fact I forgot my old password its been so long. Here is my question: Those who have the Dynatek CDIs... are you happy with it? Are the bugs worked out? any problems, concerns? I have a 700 prairie I'd like to pep up a bit and I'll my research points to the Dynatek.

Default Dynatek CDI ???

I have one on my 03 p650. It defenatly runs better and cooler.
It had the kick back thing early on and it was swapped out. It took 3 weeks. That was a while back.
Recently in earlier posts here (search) it was reported some would hardly run. Another bad batch.

I am happy.

Default Dynatek CDI ???

I have no complaints!! I have had no problems with mine at all, its been submerged, frozen, mud covered, and never missed a beat. It will definately wake it up a bit.

Revilo.
Take a look at my mods.
A Stock Prairie running my Dyna can beat me 2-4 bike lengths with me running a holeshot module in a 300 ft drag.
Now couple my mods with the Dyna against his stock prairie, I pull him 6-8-bike lengths in 300 ft then pull away to 68MPH

My replacement CDI Has performed well & no Kickbacks since Jun 04.

Recently forum members have reported that Dynatec has had a few of the 700 CDI's having problems & I'd wait a month or follow the forum & contact some of the people that are having problems to see how their replacement is working.

Default Dynatek CDI ???

My CDI lasted about 20 miles and died. I sent it back and they are going to replace it but are not expecting another batch for 2-3 weeks. It really woke my bike up, it pulls stronger form start to finish. I am eagerly awaiting the replacement. I should add that the techs I have spoke to at Dyna have been upfront about the delays etc. and told me that warranty work comes first with them.

Gentlemen...

Thanks for your input. I think I'll wait a bit. I'm headed for a week trip in the San Raphel swell in southern utah. the last thing I need is limp prairie. In the meantime I think I will install a dalton blue/orange primary spring. From my recent readings it sounds like it will add a little snap to the 700.

Do not fear. You can still carry your OE CDI for a back up. A one minute procedure. If you order now you wil not get it in time anyway.
