Hello,
I have an 03 Prairie 360. The other day while riding it just went dead.
When I turn the key on all the lights on the dash work and it's fine, as soon as i push the starter button everything dimmes, and nothing happens, just some clicking in the like a dead battery. battery is not dead, and it will start with the pullstart. Also the headlights will not work.
Anybody experience this problem? Connections to the battery are tight.

Thanks

Check all your fuses, Have your battery checked under load, and ensure your rectifier under your rear right fender is not damaged. If you have been running a module try swapping your CDI with a friends to eliminate the CDI or contact/PM old man moses on this forum.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad battery. Have it load tested for sure. It might show fully charged with 12 volts coming out and still be a dud when you need any amperage out of it. My voltage regulator died once but everything still worked, just had some brightning and dimming of headlights. good luck.

Search for my name under Yamahas. I've written many threads on testing electrical systems on bikes from head to toe. Witha volt meter you can test just about your whole system very quickly. Battery should be closer to 13 volts with bike not running and 14 volts would be ok with it running just for starters. Now do a search on my name and u will find several threads on detailed circuit tracing and testing throughout your whole bike. Good luck.
