Maybe this weekend I will put the stock CDI back in to see how fast it will run.

Well simple math this tells with 25inch tires that are stock and the trany has a final drive ratio of 8.61/1 the motor would have to have an rpm of 9254 to reach 80 mph. This is without wheel spin at all. I was at the 12 hour race this last fall there was over 100 entrants mostly 2 wheel drive sport machines. There was a radar gun set up at the end of the long straight away almost 1/2 mile long. The best any machine could muster was 70 mph and they were full alcohol driven. Will a stock UTE with a Dyna cdi reach 80 mph on gravel?

Hate to say this,..........No not in my lifetime. Well maybe in the back of a pickup, lol.

The dyna cdi is suppose to cut out at 9200 rpm. Alltoys, maybe the brute is geared different than your prairie. I have no reason to make anything up. It went 75 by gps down slight hill the last time I road at 8635 rpm something like that, anyway it did go 2 mph faster the time before. Speedometer is off around 3 mph. With this dyna, I did have some problems but it came out of it. Once It acted like it hit rev limitor and cut out, I did so many things to it but I thought it was cdi. Works good now, that is what counts.

Probably not a big difference, but at 80 mph wouldn't a tire "grow" larger than 25"

Penlands did 83 interesting?? I saw Penlands Prairie the one that made over 80 mph on a dyno at HL this is the very one they were racing at the GNCC races. It never went over 55 on the straights. Shovel time, lol.

Called Penland today, Asked him about my cams, seems His Penland cams are better than the ones he sold me. Wish i would have known that before. Asked him about the 83 mph. He said that is what his brute force did on radar.
