Default P650 petcock leaking

Has anyone else run into this problem? I went to shut off my fuel today after riding and fuel leaks out the front of it when I have it between on and off. My quad only has 1000 miles on it and I don't mess with the fuel position much so I wonder whats up. Has anyone else had this problem?

Mine has done that once in a while when I accidentally pull on the lever while turning it.If I am straight on and turn it it's ok.

Its worse if you dont use them very often. The rubber sticks and then comes apart when you finally use it, at least from my experience. I have been through two petcock gaskets, one of them came apart and sent rubber chunks into my carb causing months of intermittant problems. the other one just leaked and allowed fuel flow in any position. I now run a large Wix clear fuel filter....

So I guess I should order a new petcock gasket? Do you have a part number?

I got scared about that too and installed a polaris snomobile 800cc fuel filter after the petcock. Like $6. Heck you can buy fuel petcocks at your local FleetFarm very cheap. If the OEM one is expensive Id just try an aftermarket one.

The 400 is probably different, but I still dont have the part number. http://www.kawasaki.com/index2.asp should have the part number for everything. It only cost like 4 bucks at the dealership. The second one they gave to me since they had just replaced it less than a year earlier. I will never again fun a 4 wheeler without some sort of fuel filter, just trouble waiting to happen.

Does anyone have a PN of a filter or a good source (link) for a filter that will work on my P650?

Go to a polari dealer, they have them for the sleds. The guy told me my filter was from the 800cc sleds.
