Default 300 praire wheels

In the reading of these threads, do I understand correctly that the praire 650 aluminium wheels will fit my 2000 praire 300 ? If I am reading these correctly they are 12" wheels, are these wheels tough enough to stand up to trail riding and ranch work ? I have heard many pro's and con's on aluminium wheels, more cons than pros which is my concern. My factory Dunflops will need to be replaced shortly, while traction has been very good they roll badly in corners. I am trying to figure the best way to re-tire my machine. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You really have to beat on an alluminum factory rim to destroy it, Think, jumping with both racks full on a very rocky trail over and over. mine didnt get bent until my trailer axle came apart on the highway and threw my wheeler into the side rail of the trailer. Even then it was just bent and I hammered it back. The Dunflops dont help either. You can run some 650 12" wheels with some better tires and be just fine.

Many thanks for the reply, we are using both front and rear wheels from a 650 I presume, (narrow and wide) is the offset ok to clear the disc brakes? Without paying the long dollar for new ones, where would you suggest looking, or would new ones be a safer bet. Any idea of an approx cost on these. Thanks again for your input.

They should fit fine, there are others running these rims on the 300 and 400 machines. You can find them on Ebay as take off rims, but dont buy any Brute Force 750 wheels as they are different bolt circle. Brute Force 650 Prairie 650 Prairie 700 and even Praire 360 or Prairie 400 wheels will fit. Problem is that most stock P650, P700 wheels had Dunflop tires and will still have the rolling in corners problems you have now. I would also check out the dealerships as they might have some take off wheels cheap. Mine had a sale once where I could buy all four brand new take off wheels and tires for 200 bucks. Might be higher than Ebay but its instant. Good luck.
