Default 220 will not stay in N to crank

My bayou 220 is very hard to get it to stay in netueal, I have to very lightly let the shifter raise up in order for the netural light to stay on.
The wheeler will stay in netural, however it will not crank utill i get the netural light to stay on.
Any help???
