If you could only choose 1.Exhaust or Spring which one?
I guess my question is why? I cant think of any reason why you woudnt be able to do the spring if you have the ability to do the pipes...
In any case, proper clutching is going to matter more in the long run than raw hp. Do the spring first.

Spring. $25-$30 with 15 minute install time. Because if you only are doing (ONE) thing the pipes wont work. When you do the pipes you will need to rejet and if your rejetting anyway you might as well do the airbox mods at the same time.

CAVASELIS
Most of the V700 owners change to Pink or Orange/Blue Primary Springs or to the Polaris Violet & go with the 6* flywheel key first. If you got a flywheel puller Total cost is about $100 for key, gaskets, antifreeze, & spring. Really wakes up the Viforce
Muzzys exhaust $$5-6C-notes+ are recommended for power & sound but if you do the exhaust you should also do the Airbox & airfilter mod, and don't forget the stainless steel tie-rods , a tach, a good set of 6-ply tires, Front and rear Elkas
Changing your exhaust will eventually lead to changing your Primary spring, trying different clutch weights, and milling sheaves, spider, and adding Dalton over-drive clutch plate to get the max performance out of bike
Performance is like Lays Potatoe chips
You won't do just one.

I havent been able to afford the muzzy pipe yet. I have both the EPI pink and red springs. I like the pink for trail riding and the red for hauling a**. For about $20 each it's a lot of performance for the dollar. Go with the spring first!
