What the....?
I have a BF 750 with 27" HighLifter Outlaws...factory skidplate didnt last long at all and i just got the new highlifter versions....i noticed when installing them today that there is a small piece of vinyl hose hanging off the bottom of the bike towards the left side of the engine/tranny with a plastic filter/backflow preventer on it....the hose comes off a small barb fitting in the case then passes through the filter thing then just ends it doesnt connect to anything just hangs...what the heck is it for? and should the other end be connected to anything? seems sorta long to be a vent tube and it has the filter on it which i assume is to allow flow in only one direction...i ask this because today after a lengthy ride its gone...must have come off at some point and now i need to replace it but I cant find anyone that knows anything about it....any ideas?

Would the dealer parts guy talk to you about it without you bringing the bike in? Maybe you could just order the part over the phone and have them mail it to you.....wouldn't hurt to order a service manual at the same time, as it will come in handy. Also, you can go to buykawasaki.com and find out what it is, the part # too, then order from RonAyers site. Good luck with this problem....irritating, but at least you'll know what it's for. I'm going to look under mine tomorrow, if I find out anything I'll post it to you.
