has your friend checked his belt lately.
he might have triped somthing and it needs to be reset.
ask him to have a look in his owners manual and see if it says anything about the 4 wheel drive system.
my 04s belt light comes on when it time to check the belt and the light needs to be reset.
i dont think the 650s have this.
at least my friends 02 650 dosent.
my book says to check the belt every 1100 kilometers (600 miles) or 100 hours witch ever comes first.
maybe its time to check it out.
let us know if he finds out what the problem is.
hope this helps.

yeah his has that sensor also but that isnt what happens i dont think. hes had a blinking light cumon when the belt is messed up. the only thing now is the rapid shift of it saying 2 wd or 4wd and wont engage into 4wd. thanks

It is probably the actuator. This is a very common problem on auto Kawis.

It's either the actuator or even the fuse is dirty.I have seen where guys have taken them out and cleaned them and that fixed it.Try that first.
