I rode a Prairie 650 when they were new to the market and was really impressed with the power. Recently I rode a Brute Force 750 and although it was fast, I expected more. Maybe my memories of the 650 got inflated over time, or the independant suspension on the Brute made it seem less snappy than it was. I don't know. Is the 700 or 750 much faster? How would the three stack up in a drag if they were all stock?
A local dealership mechanic told me that he thought they were all close in power, but that the 650 was much better on fuel and so was the better deal. Is he right? I'd like to hear from someone that has owned all three engines.

Sly, I have a Prairie 700 and I'm very satisfied, I was going to get a BF 750 but change my mind...
I might by a BF650 for my wife in camo...

Good luck

Slyj , I have a '02 650 and a '04 700 and IMO the 700 has got more ***** than the 650. Both are fairly modded at this point so i couldn't get a proper side by side comparison although there is no replacement for displacement. Having said that though my cousin had a '03 650 and now owns a '05 750 and he just loves the brute. It's all what you want for suspension though. If you ride fast or use it to pull things around the solid axle is probably what you want. Not that you can't ride fast on the 750 , it's just a more predictable ride with the stiff axle. After all you don't see I.R.S on sport quads , and there's a reason for that.

I have a 700p and have raced the 650 and 750 in sand drags. Although most of them were modded the 700 and 750 seem to be VERY close. However I suspect that if all had the same mods the and you ran them from a stop to top speed on hard pack or pavement the extra cc's would make the difference. But all would be respectiable and probably beat almost every other 4x4 out there.

650 has good fuel milage then the 750 is slightly better than the 700.

Does advancing the timing with the different modules and CDI's help fuel mileage as well as power?

Essentially yes extra timing does help for fule mileage except with the new found performance it is hard to keep off the throttle, lol.

dragging the 650 against the 750 isnt even close. i raced my bro, he has a prairie 650, i beat him by 4 lengths, at least. all he could say was "that thing is fast" and his 650 is stock and his is a little faster than other 650's. i havnt even seen or raced a 700 though, nobody around here seems to have one. there was a guy riding with us that had a grizzly 660 and said he could beat me after he watched my brother and i race. i told him lets go but he wouldnt do it, he just kept saying that his was faster. the 650 is better on gas milage but not like night and day difference. when it comes down to it there are not too many places where you can really let her go to see a huge difference in power or speed between these 3 bikes, at least not around here.
