2 problems with my P700
The first problem involves the starter: Occasionally (and always at the worst possible time) my starter just clicks when I hit the start button. My dealer has tried to find the problem, and replaced the starter relay (at a cost of $125). No luck. Any ideas?
Also, after I have ridden for a short while, my quad goes dead when I come to a stop in gear. I can idle it up, which helps, but does not solve the problem. I can smell gas, so I assume that I'm running too rich and flooding the carbs. The quad is entirely stock, though, so I can't imagine what caused this. I've replaced the plugs, which helped some. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Engine not cranking over: If you don't have electrical problem, I suspect one of your cylinder is being hydrolocked by gasoline. Make sure your carb float is not sticking - clean the float bowls.
Engine stalling: Sounds like your choke plunger is partially open on either or both of your carbs. Open up and make sure plugnger is NOT partially open when choke is fully closed. Check for any corrosion or debris that may cause the plunger not to seat correctly. Also, check your choke cable routing so that there is no bind.
Good luck.

Ensure all your Battery and Starter connections are tight one each end of cables. Take your Choke plungers out and lube them & stretch your plunger springs out an adittional 1/2" & reinstall. Ensure your Mixture screws are set properly ( not set too rich). May also want to load test your battery to ensure you do not have a bad cell. Be sure you are not accidentally bumping the choke during your rides. A limb caugh my choke lever one day and I was cussing my Dyna until I put the stock CDI back in and it was doing the same thing & thats when I noticed my choke was partially on. Also, Turn off your fuel petcock when you are done riding for the day.
